Solution

Error: "ManagerEditorNavigateSubForm-e4_MForm_Load: Object doesn't support this property or method438" when opening EROL

A Windows Update released on 10th Feb 2009 will cause three alert messages to appear when opening an EROL store.

Solution

Updated: 4th March 2009  The issue DOES NOT affect EROL 4.  To resolve the issue in EROL 5:

1. Close EROL and the EROL Store Manager
2. Download and install the Windows Update Fix from our Knowledge Base at the link below:

http://support.erol.co.uk/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=103

3. Open the EROL Store Manager and download the 5.0424 (or later) release and upgrade your store as normal.

Alternatively, you can remove the Windows Updates.

To remove go to Start > Control Panel > Add Remove/Programs and make sure 'Show Updates' is ticked, then

  1. Remove the IE Update KB961260
  2. Remove the Active X Update KB960715

The issue is caused by the support of the 'Microsoft FlexGrid Active X Control' (system32/msflxgrd.ocx) being withdrawn as part of the recent Windows Update (10th Feb 2009). This is a widely used control that will affect many applications. At this time, we presume that this is a mistake and Microsoft will resume support in the next Windows Update. We will, of course, monitor the situation.
